Right now, conventional coal makes up 32% of our power in Saskatchewan. But Federal regulations on greenhouse gas emissions are changing. This means we need to change the way we’ve been generating power.
We’re working to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 40% from 2005 levels by 2030.
Why Reducing Emissions Matters
Our daily power use makes a big impact on emissions. It threatens our:

In 2017, our emissions actually went up. To meet the growing need for power, we had to rely on all of our generation options:
